CathrynCathryn Duxbury

In my 21 years at the Bar I have been exposed to numerous areas of the law. Having spent the majority of my career as a litigator, I handled all aspects of litigating construction, bidding and tendering, breach of contract, and personal injury claims; landlord tenant, tax recovery, and debt recovery matters; and insurance issues. I have appeared before the Assessment Review Board, the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Alberta Court of Appeal. As a former litigator I understand the importance of well researched legal memoranda and the necessity of being able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Because research and writing are passions of mine, as a practicing lawyer I always conducted my own legal research, and drafted my own opinions and documents. Transitioning my practice into solicitor work over the last several years has allowed me to become a more well rounded and effective lawyer. On October 1, 2016, I elected to change my status with the Law Society of Alberta to active, but non-practising.
